CLUBS COMPETING IN THE AIREDALE JUNIOR CRICKET LEAGUE IN SEASON 2008
The following Clubs shall be members of the League.
Addingham, Adel, Alwoodley, Ben Rhydding, Burley-in-Wharfedale, Calverley, Green Lane, Guiseley, Harden, Horsforth, Horsforth Hall Park, Ilkley, Kirkstall Education, Leeds Sikhs, Leeds Ladies, Menston, North Leeds, Old Leodensians, Olicanian, Otley, Pannal, Pool, Rawdon, Saltaire, Settle, Spofforth, Tong Park and Yeadon.
Additional Clubs may be co-opted by agreement of the member clubs. The League and its member Clubs will operate the following ECB regulations.

A Composition and Finance
A.1 The league shall be known as the Airedale Junior Cricket League.
A.2 The object of the League is to promote and encourage the game of cricket among young players, to bridge the gap between School and Senior League cricket and to ensure a steady flow of promising talent to the Senior Clubs.
A.3 The League and its member Clubs will operate the following ECB regulations. Membership shall be open to all irrespective of age, race, ethnic origin, colour, gender, social status and sexual orientation.
A.4 Each club is to appoint a Child Welfare Officer in line with current ECB/YCB policy and to advise the Secretary of the AJCL of their name and contact details by 31st January each year. All clubs are expected to conform to the ECB/YCB guidance concerning the necessity of CRB checks of adults who have direct contact with children.
A.5 Any Club wishing to resign from the League must do so in writing prior to 1 September of the year in which they last took part. Any Club resigning after that date shall be liable to pay the subscription for the year following that in which they last participated.
A.6 Subscriptions shall be paid annually by each Club. Each club shall pay £20 plus £5 per team subject to a maximum of £50. The level of subscription shall be fixed each year at the Annual General Meeting.
A.7 Subscriptions shall be paid no later than 30th May each season and a fine of £15 will be imposed if a club fails to pay by the due date.
A.8 The League reserves the right to require any Club to resign if, in its opinion, the general conduct or appointments of that Club are unsatisfactory or not up to the requirements of the League.
A.9 Any Club fined for failure to comply with the League rules shall pay the fine within 28 days of the notification of the Club that it is due. Any Club failing to comply with this requirement shall be liable to an increase in the fine not exceeding 100% of the amount originally due..

B Administration
B1 The position of President is to be filled by nomination from the Committee subject to ratification by the Annual General meeting. The President may attend committee meetings and the President shall have the power to vote thereat.
B2 On the recommendation of the Committee an individual may be elected as an Honorary Life Member at any General Meeting by a vote of two-thirds of the Members present and shall thereafter be entitled to all the privileges of membership without payment of any annual subscriptions.
B.3 An Executive Committee, who shall be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting, shall govern the League. The Executive Committee shall consist of a Chairperson, League Secretary, Fixture Secretary (ies), Results Secretary (ies), Child Welfare Officer plus two other representatives.
B.4 The Executive Committee shall meet as frequently as the business of the League requires.
B.5 The Executive Committee shall call a meeting of all the Clubs in the League as frequently as it requires, and shall give each Club a minimum of 14 days notice of such meetings.
B.6 Any Club not represented at such a meeting shall be fined £15.
B.7 The Annual General Meeting of the League shall be held each year prior to 30th November. Nominations for League Officers or for Life Membership may be made prior to the Annual General Meeting, and all voting and election of Officers and Life Members shall take place at the Annual General Meeting. The secretary shall give each Club a minimum of 6 weeks notice of the date of the Annual General Meeting.
B.8 Any Club not represented at the Annual General Meeting shall be fined £15.
B.9 Any proposed alterations to League rules must be received in writing by the Secretary not less than 28 days prior to the date of the Annual General Meeting. The Secretary shall send a copy of such proposals to each Club no later than 14 days prior to the date of the Annual General Meeting.
B.10 Life Members and Vice Presidents shall be entitled to attend and to be heard at all meetings of the Clubs and at Annual and Extraordinary General Meetings. They shall not have the right to vote.
B.11 Each Club shall be entitled to one vote at all meetings of Clubs and at the Annual General Meeting. The President or, in his absence, whoever he appoints to chair the meeting, shall have the casting vote. A vote shall be won by a simple majority of those voting. Proxy votes shall not be allowed.
B.12 Any nominations or proposed rule changes, which cannot be brought to the Annual General Meeting, shall require an Extraordinary General Meeting. Any Club or the Executive Committee may call an Extraordinary General Meeting provided it has the backing of at least four other Clubs.
B.13 A requirement for an Extraordinary General Meeting must be received in writing by the Secretary together with the proposals or nominations to be made at it, and the names of the other Clubs which support them. The Executive Committee shall fix a date for the Extraordinary General Meeting, and the Secretary shall give each Club a minimum of 14 days notice of the date and the issues to be discussed.
B.12 Any Club not represented at an Extraordinary General Meeting shall be fined £15.

C The Clubs
C.1 Each Club shall nominate a Club Representative with whom the Secretary shall correspond. The name, postal address and / or e-mail address and a telephone number of each Club Representative shall be given to the Secretary in writing prior to or at the first club representative meeting of the year.
C.2 Each Club shall nominate a team manager for each of its participating teams, and shall inform the Secretary of the name and telephone number of each manager no later than the pre-season meeting of the Clubs.
C.3 Any Club who wishes to play either more or fewer teams in the League and/or Cup than they did the previous year shall notify the Secretary of their intentions no later than 31st January prior to the season concerned. Failure to do so will mean that additional teams will not be included in the fixture lists, and teams not taking part shall be deemed to have failed to fulfil fixtures (seeD.2 below). A fine of £20 will be imposed if a club fails to inform the League by the due date.
C.4 Clubs may enter only one team per age group in the Cup Competitions.

D The Fixtures
D.1 The Clubs will play a programme of fixtures as arranged by the League. Clubs shall attempt to commence all games no later than the times shown in the League Handbook, but may begin earlier on the same day by agreement between both Clubs.
D.2 Any Club failing to fulfil a fixture shall be dealt with by the Executive Committee and, subject to the Executive Committee’s decision, shall be liable to a fine not exceeding £5.
D.3 Fixtures shall be played on the dates specified by the League.
D.4 No League or Cup fixture may be cancelled without the consent of the Executive Committee unless there are adverse weather conditions, which prevent play. Clubs may by agreement call off a fixture because of bad weather prior to one hour before the scheduled start time to prevent unnecessary travel. If both teams are not in full agreement then both teams must attend the ground; otherwise they shall be deemed to have failed to fulfil the fixture.
D.5 A League or Cup fixture may be postponed and rearranged if one or both of the competing Clubs has three or more of its players playing at the same time with any of their senior X1s in a League or Cup fixture, or has three or more of its players playing at the same time in any recognised representative X1, but only with the consent of the Executive Committee.
D.6 Any other application to postpone and rearrange a fixture shall only be made with the complete agreement of both Clubs, and shall be made to the Executive Committee at least three full days prior to the original date of the fixture. Clubs wishing to rearrange fixtures should where possible have agreed an alternative date before the application is made and to be played within 14 days of the scheduled fixture. The home club to advise the Results Secretary of any changes prior to the originally scheduled fixture.
D.7 Any fixtures rearranged must be played no later than one week after the last scheduled League game for that season, otherwise the fixture shall be considered drawn.
D.8 Clubs entering three or more teams playing hard ball cricket on the same evening or morning shall provide two grounds.
D.9 Clubs with two teams in any age group above and including under 13’s shall play in different divisions when numbers justify a two division split with the fixtures.
D.10 Any League fixture can be played on an artificial surface providing that three days notice is given to the away team giving advice on the appropriate footwear and any matters relevant to the surface being used.
D.11 Cup Finals will be played on the dates set. Should the club drawn at home not be able to host the match, the final will be hosted by the team drawn away and in the event of this club being unable to host the match a neutral venue will be used.

E The Results
E.1 The home Club shall notify the Results Secretary of all match results by telephone before 10.00 pm on the day of the match and before 2.30 pm for Sunday matches. The Result Sheet shall be subsequently submitted in accordance with Rule E2. Clubs failing to fulfil this requirement shall be liable to a fine of £5
E.2 The Results Secretary must receive results no later than two full days after the conclusion of the game. Clubs failing to fulfil this requirement shall be liable to a fine of £5.
E.3 Any Club may lodge a protest about a result. A protest must be made in writing and sent to League Secretary. A copy of the protest must be sent to the opposing Club at the same time. The protest shall be dealt with by the Executive Committee whose decision shall be final
E.4 A cup match that results in a tie (same runs whether or not fewer wickets have been won or lost) shall be replayed and hosted by the away team.

F The Players
F.1 No player may play for more than one Club in the League or Cup in the same age group in the same season, unless he or she first has the permission of the Executive Committee.
F.2 No player may play for a Club in the League or Cup if he or she also plays for a different senior league Club in the same season, unless he or she first has the permission of the Executive Committee.
F.3 No player may play for more than one team in the Cup (same age group).
F.4 Any Club who fails to conform to the rules for age limits, or who play a player who has failed to obtain the necessary permission to play, shall forfeit all the points they have gained in games in which the ineligible player has played. Clubs so in conflict with the League rules shall be liable to a fine to be determined by the Executive Committee.
F.5 Prior to the commencement of each game, each team shall nominate a wicket-keeper who shall not be allowed to bowl during the game.
F.6 All players MUST wear a helmet with a faceguard when batting or keeping wicket stood up to the wicket. The only exception to this is where a player is unable to wear a helmet for religious reasons. In this case the player will be allowed to play without a helmet if a signed disclaimer form is shown to both umpires prior to the start of the game.
F.7 No young player in the Under 15 age group or younger shall be allowed to field closer than 8 yards (7.3 metres) from the middle stump, except behind the wicket on the off side, until the batter has played at the ball. For players in the Under 13 age group and below the distance is 11 yards (10 metres). These distances apply even when wearing a helmet. Should a young player in these age groups the umpire must stop the game immediately and instruct the fielder to move back.
In addition any young player in the Under 16 to Under 18 age groups, who has not reached the age of 18, must wear a helmet, and for boys an abdominal protector (box) when fielding within 6 yards (5.5 metres) of the bat, except behind the wicket on the off side. Players should wear appropriate equipment whenever they are fielding in a position where they feel at risk.

G End of Season
G.1 Clubs shall return details for League averages for Under 17, Under 15 and Under 13 (Limited Overs) League matches to the Secretary no later than 14 days after the last scheduled League game of the season. Replies are required by the League Secretary from each Club even if it has no qualifiers. Any Club failing to return details will not have their players included in the League averages, and shall be liable to a fine of £10.
Performance qualifications are as follows
U17’s Batting 250 Runs Minimum of six innings
U17’s Bowling 15 wickets
U15’s Batting 250 runs Minimum of six innings
U15’s Bowling 12 wickets
U13’s Batting 125 runs Minimum of six innings
U13’s Bowling 10 wickets
G.2 The League shall arrange for the insurance of all League trophies.
G.3 The responsibility for engraving trophies with winners’ names shall lie with the winners themselves, as will the safekeeping of trophies they have won. The cost of engraving can be claimed from the League. In their safekeeping of trophies, holders of those trophies shall adhere to the insurance requirements of the League.
G.4 All trophies shall be returned to the League Secretary no later than the end of June in the following season.

H Under17 Section
H.1 No player may play in League or Cup games if he or she has reached the age of 17 at midnight on 31st August of the previous season. No girl may play in the League or Cup games if she has reached the age of eighteen at midnight on 31st August of the previous season.
H.2 In League and Cup games (excepting the Cup Final) each team may bat for a maximum of 20 overs, and the side scoring most runs in its overs shall be the winner. If the scores are level the game shall be deemed a tie. In the event of a tie in cup matches the match shall be replayed within 14 days at the ground of the team originally drawn away.
H.3 In the Cup Final the game shall be of a maximum of 40 overs duration for each side, and the side scoring most runs in its overs shall be the winner. If the scores are level the game shall be deemed to be a tie, and the trophy shall be shared.
H.4 In League matches three points shall be awarded for a win, two for a tie, one for a draw and none for a loss. A draw shall be any game, which does not start or is unfinished due to adverse weather conditions, or where a game has to be abandoned for other wholly acceptable reasons.
H.5 At the end of the season the team having most points shall be the League winner. If two or more teams have an equal number of points, the League shall be won by whichever of those teams have won most League matches. If these are equal, whichever of those teams has the better scoring average (runs scored divided by wickets lost) shall be the winner. (Clubs should be prepared to submit their scorebooks to the Executive Committee in such circumstances.)
H.6 Clubs shall provide and bowl with their own full-size cricket ball, which must be to the satisfaction of the umpires.
H.7 In 20-over matches, no bowler may bowl more than five overs, and in 40-over matches no bowler may bowl more than ten overs. Clubs shall ensure that bowlers adhere to current ECB guidelines on the length of bowling spells for fast bowlers. ECB guidelines on fielding restrictions shall apply.
H.8 In adverse weather conditions, and provided both Clubs agree before the toss, a 20-over match may be reduced to 16 overs a side. In such circumstances, no bowler may bowl more than 4 overs.
H.9 No player may play in the Cup Final unless he or she has already played for that same Club in at least two matches in the League in the same season, unless he or she first has the permission of the Executive Committee.

I Under 15 Section
I.1 No boy may play in League or Cup games if he has reached the age of fifteen at midnight on 31st August of the previous season. No girl may play in the League or Cup games if she has reached the age of sixteen at midnight on 31st August of the previous season.
I.2 In League and Cup games (excepting the Cup Final) each team may bat for a maximum of 20 overs, and the side scoring most runs in its overs shall be the winner. If the scores are level the game shall be deemed a tie. In the event of a tie in cup matches the match shall be replayed within 14 days at the ground of the team originally drawn away.
I.3 In the Cup Final the game shall be of a maximum of 35 overs duration for each side, and the side scoring most runs in its overs shall be the winner. If the scores are level the game shall be deemed to be a tie, and the trophy shall be shared.
I.4 In League matches three points shall be awarded for a win, two for a tie, one for a draw and none for a loss. A draw shall be any game, which does not start or is unfinished due to adverse weather conditions, or where a game has to be abandoned for other wholly acceptable reasons.
I.5 At the end of the season the team having most points shall be the League winner. If two or more teams have an equal number of points, the League shall be won by whichever of those teams have won most League matches. If these are also equal, whichever of those teams has the better scoring average (runs scored divided by wickets lost) shall be the winner. A batter shall retire on reaching an individual score of fifty and shall not return to the crease. There are no retirements whilst the last pair at the wicket. There will be no batting restriction in the Cup Final.
I.9 In adverse weather conditions, and provided both Clubs agree before the toss, a 20-over match may be reduced to 15 overs a side. In such circumstances, no bowler may bowl more than 3 overs.
I.10 No player may play in the Cup Final unless he or she has already played for that same Club in at least two matches in the League in the same season, unless he or she first has the permission of the Executive Committee.

J Under 13 Section
J.1 No boy may play in League or Cup games if he has reached the age of thirteen at midnight on 31st August of the previous season. No girl may play in League or Cup games if she has reached the age of fourteen at midnight on 31st August of the previous season.
J.2 In League matches three points shall be awarded for a win, two for a tie, one for a draw and none for a loss. A draw shall be any game, which does not start or is unfinished due to adverse weather conditions, or where a game has to be abandoned for other wholly acceptable reasons.
J.3 At the end of the season the team having most points shall be the League winner. If two or more teams have an equal number of points, the League shall be won by whichever of those teams have won most League matches. In the event of the number of wins being equal, the League title shall be shared.
J.4 Clubs shall provide and bowl with their own junior-size cricket ball, which must be to the satisfaction of the umpires.
J.5 Teams shall consist of ten players on each side in pair’s cricket and eleven players in limited overs cricket.
J.6 No player may field closer than 11 yards from the striker’s wicket, except behind the stumps on the off side.
J.7 The pitch shall be 21 yards in length.
J.8 The League will run a limited overs league. In such games each team may bat for a maximum of 20 overs and the side scoring most runs in its overs shall be the winner. If the scores are level the game shall be deemed to be a tie.
J.9 In limited overs games no bowler may bowl more than three overs. A batter shall retire on reaching an individual score of 25 and shall not return to the crease. There are no retirements whilst the last pair at the wicket. There will be no batting restriction in the Cup Final and bowling restrictions will conform to the ECB directive.
J.10 In adverse weather conditions, and provided that both Clubs agree before the toss a 20-over match may be reduced to a minimum of 15 overs a side. In such circumstances, a minimum of 7 bowlers should be used; no bowler may bowl more than 2 overs.
J.11 Clubs may play pairs cricket if they prefer. In such games batters shall bat in pairs for a maximum of four overs for each pair. (In case of an illness or injury preventing a batter from continuing this rule may be relaxed with the consent of both umpires.
J.12 In pairs cricket each team shall begin with 200 runs, shall score additional runs as is normal, and shall have eight runs deducted each time a batter is dismissed. The side with the highest total at the conclusion of the match shall be the winner. If the scores are level the game shall be deemed a tie.
J.13 A batter who is dismissed in pair’s cricket shall (unless he or she is dismissed from the last bowl of his or her allotted overs) be at the non-striker’s end for the immediately following delivery.
J.14 In pairs cricket each player (other than the wicket-keeper) shall bowl at least one over, and no bowler may bowl more the three overs.
J.15 In adverse weather conditions, and provided both Clubs agree before the toss, a pair’s cricket match may be reduced to 15 overs a side. In such circumstances each pair of batters shall bat for a maximum of three overs (but see the note at rule J.11), and each player (other than the wicket-keeper) shall bowl at least one over but not more than two overs.
J.16 In the Cup Final the game shall be of a maximum of 35 overs duration for each side, and the side scoring most runs in its overs shall be the winner. If the scores are level the game shall be deemed to be a tie, and the trophy shall be shared. There will be no batting restriction in the Cup Final and bowling restrictions will conform to the ECB directive.
J.17 No player may play in the Cup Final unless he or she has already played for that same Club in at least two matches in the League in the same season, unless he or she first has the permission of the Executive Committee.

K Under 11 Section
K.1 No boy may play in League or Cup if he has reached the age of eleven at midnight on 31st August of the previous season. No girl may play in the League or Cup if she has reached the age of twelve at midnight on 31st August of the previous season.
K.2 In League matches three points shall be awarded for a win, two for a tie, one for a draw and none for a loss. A draw shall be any game, which does not start or is unfinished due to adverse weather conditions, or where a game has to be abandoned for other wholly acceptable reasons.
K.3 At the end of the season the team having most points shall be the League winner. If two or more teams have an equal number of points, the League shall be won by whichever of those teams have won most League matches. In the event of the number of wins being equal, the League title shall be shared.
K.4 Clubs shall provide and bowl with their own junior-size cricket ball, which must be to the satisfaction of the umpires.
K.5 Teams shall consist of eight players each side. (By agreement by both Clubs prior to the toss, a game may be played with ten players on each side. If such an agreement is reached, the performance of all ten players shall contribute to the result of the game.
K.6 No player may field closer than 11 yards from the striker’s wicket, except behind the stumps on the off side.
K.7 The pitch shall be 20 yards in length.
K.8 Each team shall begin with 200 runs, shall score additional runs as normal, and shall have eight runs deducted each time a batter is dismissed. The side with the highest total at the conclusion of the match shall be the winner. If the scores are level then the game shall be deemed a tie.
K.9 Batters shall bat in pairs for a maximum of four overs for each pair. (In the case of an illness or injury preventing a batter from continuing, this rule may be relaxed with the consent of both umpires.
K.10 A batter who is dismissed shall (unless he or she is dismissed from the last ball of his or her allotted overs) be at the non-striker’s end for the immediately following delivery.

K.12 When an agreement has been made to play ten-a-side (se K.5 above), but due to adverse weather conditions both Clubs also agree, prior to the toss, a match may be reduced to 15 overs a side. In such circumstances, each pair of batters shall bat for a maximum of three overs (but see the note at rule K.9), and each player (other than the wicket-keeper) shall bowl at least one over but not more than two overs.
K.13 The League will run a Cup competition run as an eleven a side limited overs matches. In such games each team may bat for a maximum of 20 overs.
K.14 In the cup competition no bowler may bowl more than three overs except in the Final. A batter shall retire on reaching an individual score of 20 and shall not return to the crease. There are no retirements whilst the last pair are at the wicket.
K.15 The Cup Final shall be of a maximum of 30 overs duration for each side, and the side scoring most runs in its overs shall be the winner. If the scores are level the game shall be deemed to be a tie, and the trophy shall be shared. There will be no batting restriction in the Cup Final and bowling restrictions will conform to the ECB directive.
K.16 No player may play in the Cup Final unless he or she has already played for that same Club in at least two matches in the League in the same season, unless he or she first has the permission of the Executive Committee.

L Under 9 Section
L.1 All players must be under 9 at midnight on 31st August of the previous season. No girl may play in the League or Cup if she has reached the age of ten at midnight on 31st August of the previous season.
L.2 In League matches four points awarded for a win. Two points awarded for a tie or draw. A draw shall be any game, which does not start or is unfinished due to adverse weather conditions, or where a game has to be abandoned for other wholly acceptable reasons. One point awarded for a loss where the losing team has turned up with at least four players. No points awarded for a loss where the losing team has turned up with fewer than four players or ceded the fixture.
L.3 At the end of the season the team having most points shall be the League winner. If two or more teams have an equal number of points, the League shall be won by whichever of those teams have won most League matches. In the event of the number of wins being equal, the League title shall be shared.
L.4 Teams shall consist of eight players each side. The pitch shall be 17 yards in length. Boundaries will be a minimum of 25 yards and a maximum of 35 yards parallel to the pitch. The match will consist of 16 x 6-ball overs per innings for 8-a-side. There will be 2 overs per bowler. Bowling will be from one end only. The fielding team will rotate in a clockwise direction after each over. Fielders are to be no nearer than 11 yards from the batsman (striker).
L.5 Batters will bat in pairs for 4 overs, each batter to face the same number of deliveries per over. Batters will take guard on middle/leg to avoid covering their wicket.
L.6 Umpires will change ends at the end of 8 overs. Where possible a guideline will be drawn from the middle stump to a yard in front of the popping crease. Teams will start with 200 runs and lose 5 runs per wicket. There will be no LBW’s. There will be no no balls for overstepping (run up). No ball shall be called for a ball reaching the striker on the full above waist high.
L.7 Wides are at the umpire’s discretion; the guidance being that if the batsman could have hit the ball then no wide. The following should be noted:
a) A ball that bounces over shoulder height while the batsman is in normal batting stance shall be deemed a “no-ball”. In addition to this any ball that is above waist height on the FULL shall also be called a “no-ball”.
b) A no ball shall be called with a ball bouncing more than twice or rolling along the ground.
c) A wide shall result in a free hit from the batting tee.
d) Only one run will be scored for a wide even if ‘four byes’ arise. Any “no-ball” shall result in a free hit except striker successfully hits the ball for a boundary four or six (an extra plus the boundary will be added to the score) One run shall be awarded for a no ball and a free hit awarded
e) The “free hit” must be hit from the tee and runs can be scored provided the ball is hit in front of square i.e. not behind an imaginary line extended from the batting end crease to each boundary. Fielders to remain in the positions adopted when the no ball was delivered.
f) The batter cannot be out bowled, caught, stumped, or hit wicket from a “free hit” but they can still be run out.
L.8 Each team must provide an umpire and a scorer. Scores should be checked at the end of each over.
L.9 A junior size ball (Incrediball) must be used, Kwik cricket or own bats can be used. Wicket keeping gloves, batting gloves or pads are not required.

M Girls League
Composition and Finance
M1 The league shall be known as the Airedale Junior Girls Cricket League.
M,2 The object of the League is to promote competition and encourage the game of cricket among girls
M.3 The League and its member Clubs will operate the following ECB regulations. Membership shall be open to all irrespective of age, race, ethnic origin, colour, gender, social status and sexual orientation.
M.4 C.1 Each Club shall nominate a Club Representative with whom the Secretary shall correspond. The name, postal address and e-mail address and a telephone number of each Club Representative shall be given to the Secretary in writing prior to or at the first club representatives meeting in the new year.
M.5 Any Club wishing to resign from the League must do so in writing prior to 1 September of the year in which they last took part. Any Club resigning after that date shall be liable to pay the subscription for the year following that in which they last participated.
M.6 Subscriptions shall be paid annually by each Club. Each club shall pay £20 plus £5 per team subject to a maximum of £50. The level of subscription shall be fixed each year at the Annual General Meeting.
M.7 Subscriptions shall be paid no later than 30th May each season and a fine of £15 will be imposed if a club fails to pay by the due date.
M.8 The League reserves the right to require any Club to resign if, in its opinion, the general conduct or appointments of that Club are unsatisfactory or not up to the requirements of the League.
M.9 Any Club fined for failure to comply with the League rules shall pay the fine within 28 days of the notification of the Club that it is due. Any Club failing to comply with this requirement shall be liable to an increase in the fine not exceeding 100% of the amount originally due.

N Administration
N.1 The Annual General Meeting of the League shall be held each year prior to 30th November. Nominations for League Officers may be made prior to the Annual General Meeting, and all voting and election of Officers shall take place at the Annual General Meeting. The Secretary shall give each Club a minimum of 6 weeks notice of the date of the Annual General Meeting.
N.2 An Executive Committee, who shall be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting, shall govern the League. The Executive Committee shall consist of a Chairperson, League Secretary, Secretary (ies), plus two other representatives.
N.4 The Executive Committee shall meet as frequently as the business of the League requires.
N.5 The Executive Committee shall call a meeting of all the Clubs in the League as frequently as it requires, and shall give each Club a minimum of 14 days notice of such meetings.
N.6 Any Club not represented at such a meeting shall be fined £15.
N.8 Any Club not represented at the Annual General Meeting shall be fined £15.
N.9 Any proposed alterations to League rules must be received in writing by the Secretary not less than 28 days prior to the date of the Annual General Meeting. The Secretary shall send a copy of such proposals to each Club no later than 14 days prior to the date of the Annual General Meeting.
N.10 Life Members and Vice Presidents shall be entitled to attend and to be heard at all meetings of the Clubs and at Annual and Extraordinary General Meetings. They shall not have the right to vote.
N.9 Each Club shall be entitled to one vote at all meetings of Clubs and at the Annual General Meeting. The President or, in his absence, whoever he appoints to chair the meeting, shall have the casting vote. A vote shall be won by a simple majority of those voting. Proxy votes shall not be allowed.
N.10 Any nominations or proposed rule changes, which cannot be brought to the Annual General Meeting, shall require an Extraordinary General Meeting. Any Club or the Executive Committee may call an Extraordinary General Meeting provided it has the backing of at least four other Clubs.
N.11 A requirement for an Extraordinary General Meeting must be received in writing by the Secretary together with the proposals or nominations to be made at it, and the names of the other Clubs which support them. The Executive Committee shall fix a date for the Extraordinary General Meeting, and the Secretary shall give each Club a minimum of 14 days notice of the date and the issues to be discussed.
N.12 Any Club not represented at an Extraordinary General Meeting shall be fined £15.
N.13 Clubs will adhere to all rules within Rules C, D, E and F.
N14 Clubs will provide end of season details of performances (criteria to be agreed)

Please note that the playing rules for girls matches outlined below operate more for guidance than strict adherence. Clubs are encouraged to adapt to suit playing conditions and team strengths.

Under 11 Girls Section
O.1 No player may play in League games if she has reached the age of 11 at midnight on 31st August of the previous season.
O.2 In League matches three points shall be awarded for a win, two for a tie, one for a draw and none for a loss. A draw shall be any game, which does not start nor does not finish due to adverse weather conditions, or where a game has to be abandoned for other wholly acceptable reasons.
O.3 At the end of the season the team having most points shall be the League winner. If two or more teams have an equal number of points, the League shall be won by whichever of those teams has won the most League matches. In the event of the number of wins being equal, the League title shall be shared.
O.4 Clubs shall provide and bowl with their own junior size Incrediball (except with the agreement of both teams a hard ball may be used with the appropriate protective headwear, gloves and pads being worn).
O.5 Teams shall consist of eight players on each side.
O.6 No player may field closer than 11 yards from the striker’s wicket, except behind the stumps on the offside.
O.7 The pitch shall be 20 yards in length.
O.8 Matches will be played in a pair’s format. Batters shall bat in pairs for a maximum of four overs for each pair. (In the case of an injury or illness preventing a batter from continuing, this rule may be relaxed with the consent of both umpires).
O.9 Each team shall begin with 200 runs. Teams shall score additional runs as normal, and shall have five runs deducted each time a batter is dismissed. The side with the highest total at the conclusion of the match shall be the winner. If the scores are level then the game shall be deemed a tie.
O.10 A batter who is dismissed in pair’s cricket shall (unless he or she is dismissed from the last ball of his or her allotted overs) be at the non-striker’s end for the immediately following delivery.
O.11 Each player (other than the wicket-keeper) shall bowl at least one over, and no bowler may bowl more than three overs.
O.12 In adverse weather conditions, and provided that both Clubs agree before the toss, a pair’s cricket match may be reduced to 8 overs a side. In such circumstances, each pair of batters shall bat for a maximum of two overs (but see the note at J.11), and each player (other than the wicket-keeper) shall bowl at least one over but no more than two overs.

P Under 13 Girls Section
P.1 No girl may play in League or Cup games if he has reached the age of thirteen at midnight on 31st August of the previous season.
J.2 In League matches three points shall be awarded for a win, two for a tie, one for a draw and none for a loss. A draw shall be any game, which does not start or is unfinished due to adverse weather conditions, or where a game has to be abandoned for other wholly acceptable reasons.
P.3 At the end of the season the team having most points shall be the League winner. If two or more teams have an equal number of points, the League shall be won by whichever of those teams have won most League matches. In the event of the number of wins being equal, the League title shall be shared.
P.4 Clubs shall provide and bowl with their own junior-size Incredibal (except with the agreement of both teams a hard ball may be used with the appropriate protective headwear, gloves and pads being worn). Where no agreement can be reached on the ball to be used the Incredibal is the ball to be used.
PJ.5 Teams shall consist of ten players on each side in pair’s cricket and eleven players in limited overs cricket.
P.6 No player may field closer than 11 yards from the striker’s wicket, except behind the stumps on the off side.
P.7 The pitch shall be 21 yards in length.
P.8 Clubs can play either ‘’limited’’ overs cricket or ‘’pairs’’ cricket. Where no agreement can be reached the default position is pairs cricket
P.9 In limited overs games no bowler may bowl more than three overs. A batter shall retire on reaching an individual score of 25 and shall not return to the crease.
P.10 In adverse weather conditions, and provided that both Clubs agree before the toss a 20-over match may be reduced to a minimum of 15 overs a side. In such circumstances, a minimum of 7 bowlers should be used; no bowler may bowl more than 2 overs.
P.11 Clubs may play pairs cricket if they prefer. In such games batters shall bat in pairs for a maximum of four overs for each pair. (In case of an illness or injury preventing a batter from continuing this rule may be relaxed with the consent of both umpires.
P.12 In pairs cricket each team shall begin with 200 runs, shall score additional runs as is normal, and shall have eight runs deducted each time a batter is dismissed. The side with the highest total at the conclusion of the match shall be the winner. If the scores are level the game shall be deemed a tie.
P.13 A batter who is dismissed in pair’s cricket shall (unless he or she is dismissed from the last bowl of his or her allotted overs) be at the non-striker’s end for the immediately following delivery.

In such circumstances each pair of batters shall bat for a maximum of three overs (but see the note at rule J.11), and each player (other than the wicket-keeper) shall bowl at least one over but not more than two overs.

Q Under 16 Section
Q.1 Each team shall comprise of 11 players. No player may play in League or Cup games if he or she has reached the age of 16 before 1 September of the previous season.
Q.2 In League or Cup games (excepting the Cup Final) each team may bat for a maximum of 20 overs, and the side scoring most runs in its overs shall be the winner. If the scores are level, the game shall be deemed a tie.
Q.3 In the Cup Final the game shall be a maximum of 30 overs duration for each side and the side scoring most runs in its overs shall be the winner. If the scores are level the game shall be deemed to be a tie, and the trophy shall be shared.
Q.4 In League matches; three points shall be awarded for a win, two for a tie, one for a draw and none for a loss. A draw shall be any game, which does not start nor does not finish due to adverse weather conditions, or where a game has to be abandoned for other wholly acceptable reasons.
Q.5 At the end of the season the team having most points shall be the League winner. If two or more teams have an equal number of points, the League shall be won by whichever of those teams has won most League matches. If these are also equal, whichever of those teams has the better scoring average (runs scored divided by wickets lost) shall be the winner. (Clubs should be prepared to submit their scorebooks to the Executive Committee in such circumstances)
Q.6 Clubs shall provide and bowl with their own 5oz. cricket ball, which must be to the satisfaction of the umpires.
Q.7 No player may field closer than 8 yards from the striker’s wicket, except behind the stumps on the off side.
Q.8 In 20-over matches, no bowler may bowl more than three overs and batters will retire after scoring 35 runs. The batter may return if the rest of her team is dismissed or have retired. Clubs shall ensure that bowlers adhere to current ECB guidelines on the length of bowling spells for fast bowlers.
Q.9 In adverse weather conditions, and provided that both Clubs agree before the toss, a 20-over match may be reduced to 15 overs a side. In such circumstances, no bowler may bowl more than 2 overs.

R.General
R.1 Other than as stated in these League rules, the Laws of Cricket shall apply to all matches. In addition, any current ECB guidelines concerning bowling spells, wearing of helmets or other matters shall be adhered to by all Clubs.
R.2 In the event of any circumstances not covered by these rules, the decision of the Executive Committee shall be final.
R.3 Issues of misconduct will be dealt with by the League’s Disciplinary Policy.
R.4 A resolution to dissolve the League can only be passed at an AGM or an EGM through a majority vote of the membership. In the event of dissolution, any net assets of the League that remain will become the property of other sporting leagues with similar objectives to those of the League.
